Jana Burson launched The Burson Agency in 2014, providing holistic author and speaker management, manuscript review, author representation, speaker booking and a variety of consulting services.
In January 2016 she joined The Christopher Ferebee Agency, continuing her career as a literary agent.
Jana has worked in the publishing industry for nearly 13 years. From 2010-2014 she served as Acquisitions Editor for the FaithWords and Center Street divisions of Hachette Book Group, where she acquired New York Times bestselling titles like Indivisible by James Robison and Jay Richards, and Pursued by Jud Wilhite. Jana also spearheaded the initiative to publish the next generation of fresh voices, authors and pastors by acquiring Jonathan Merritt, Christa Black Gifford, Touré Roberts and Brad Gray.
Prior to her editorial tenure, Jana was Director of Publicity at FaithWords and Center Street, and a Senior Publicist at Thomas Nelson. She worked on media campaigns for several high-profile and New York Times bestselling books including The Shack by William Paul Young, The G-Free Diet by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Beyond Belief by Josh Hamilton, The Preacher and the Presidents by Michael Duffy and Nancy Gibbs, and many others.
Jana is closely connected with bestselling authors, publishers, decision-makers and influential organizations, and values the wide-range of relationships she has cultivated in her nearly 13 years of publishing industry experience
